Sandra Lee White Hicks, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 22, 2020. She was born to the late Sanford and Elsie White in Hampton, Virginia on March 11, 1939, and lived her entire life in Hampton. Sandra retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a file clerk. She loved the churches she attended and served each faithfully as a children's Sunday School teacher and devoted choir member. Those churches she loved and served were Wythe Parkway Baptist, Big Bethel Baptist, Deer Park Baptist, and most recently, Liberty Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, George Hicks, and her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Darlene Ruzic (Fairfax VA); sons, Rev. Eddie Hicks and wife Pam (Mooresville NC) and Mark Hicks and wife Karen (Newnan GA); grandchildren, Austin Ruzic, Jesse Ruzic (Olivia), Taylor Hicks (Cassie), Ashton Hicks, Perry Hicks, and Nick Hicks; great-grandchildren, Jack and Archer Ruzic; sisters, Joyce Bankett (Jimmy) and Betty Cain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be shared Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., in Newport News, with the Rev. Joe Hunt officiating. Please see www.peninsulafuneralhome.com/video for live-streaming. Burial will follow immediately at Peninsula Memorial Park. Facial masks and social distancing will be required.
