James graduated from Corcoran High School in 1966. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1967. In 1973 he joined the Syracuse City Fire Department. He was known by his fellow firefighters as “JC”. Jim retired from the fire department in 1993 after 20 years of service. Jim was life long member of the Columbian Presbyterian Church, a life member of the NRA and a member of Uncas Lodge #161 of the International Order of Oddfellows in LaFayette.
James was predeceased by his father Russel C. Park and his wife Cynthia Elliott-Park.
Surviving are his mother, Charlotte Palmer Park, sisters, Connie (Dana) Chapman, Cynthia Blum and Lea Ann Tilden and a brother Thomas (Kristine) Park and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 29th at the Columbian Presbyterian Church, US Route 11 at US Route 20 in Lafayette, NY from 3-6pm and Thursday morning May 30th, at the church, from 10am to 11am with the service immediately following.
Burial will be in LaFayette Rural Cemetery following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Columbian Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 270, LaFayette, NY 13084. Butler Badman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
