Joseph George Lehman, 86, of Hershey, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Conewago Twp., he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Alma (Brandt) Lehman. He was the husband of Sara S. (Haldeman) Lehman. They would have been married for 66 years on June 23rd.
Mr. Lehman was a member of Temple Bible Church at Shenk's (formerly Shenk's Community Church) in Elizabethtown. He was employed by the Hershey Co. for over 30 years in farming and plumbing and retired from the compressor room at the factory. He enjoyed cameras, photography and mowing his lawn.
In addition to his wife Sara, he is survived by his children: Samuel E., husband of Sandra Lehman, Columbus, OH; Miriam E., wife of Roland Martel, Wyoming, MI; Barbara J., wife of Edward Seibert, Jr., Hershey and Robert F. Lehman, Lititz; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and five sisters: Mary Kauffman, Kansas; Naomi, wife of Jacob Engle, Marietta; Anna Lehman, Hershey; Grace, wife of Irvin Engle, Mount Joy and Luella, wife of Anthony Jardine, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Kanode.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Temple Bible Church at Shenk's, 5880 Schoolhouse Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 10:00 AM. Friends may call on Wednesday evening at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 6:30-8:30 and on Thursday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or Bethesda Mission, 2101 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
