Johnny Meade, 65, loving husband, dad, Poppy, brother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.
He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith, former Pastor of Indian Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Pound, VA and Hoover Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Keokee, VA, a retired employee of Joy Manufacturing, and was a graduate of J.I. Burton class of 1974.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, John Mitchell Meade, Jr.; parents, Sheldon E. Meade and Bureta M. Meade; brother, Sheldon Hugh Meade; brothers-in-law, Arnold Billings, James B. Wampler, Sanford L. Blanken, Billy Wayne Wampler and Tom Slemp; and his best buddy, Ringo (Yorkie).
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Theresa Meade; daughter, Amanda Meade Mullins and husband Jordan; son, Michael Sheldon Meade; grandchildren, so loved by their Poppy, Luke, Ian, and Lakyn; brothers and sisters, Duane Meade and wife Christine, Rita Slemp, Linda Harvey and husband Adam, Lisa Jones and husband Gary, Joseph Meade, Libby Taylor and husband Walter, Lauren Belcher and husband Chuck, and David Meade and wife Cathy; sisters-in-law, Georgina Billings, Sharon Dellinger, Nancy Kay Wampler, and Kathy Wampler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
