She was a native of Mt. Vernon and was a 1964 graduate of Montgomery County High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Brewton-Parker College and later earned a Master's degree, both in Education. She taught her entire career in Montgomery County schools before retiring. Carol was an avid reader and had a unique love for stray animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell "Pee Wee" Landrum; and her parents, Lewis Walter Adamson and Elizabeth Hazel Dixon Adamson.
Survivors include one son, Alan Landrum of Atlanta; one brother, Lewis Adamson and wife Pam of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Mary James and husband, Greg; two nephews, Derek James and wife Marianne of Lyons, and Drew James and wife Kathryn of Vidalia; one niece, Lori Adamson of Jacksonville; and two loving friends, Beverly Foreman and Mike Morris, both of Mt. Vernon.
A private graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 30th, at 2:00 p.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society, P.O. Box 210, Vidalia, GA 30475.
