John Clinton Hibdon was killed in an automobile accident on the Haw Creek
Bridge., on MO Hiway 52, between Stover and Cole camp.
Also killed in this wreck were the driver of the car, Jewell Tombs (son
of Charles E. Tombs and Maude May Cole) and Rosetta Adams (daughter of
Orville Adams and Berniece Carver). Mary Ellen Breen (daughter of John
Clarence Breen and Della Jane Walls) was injured in this accident. John
Clinton Hibdon was going with Mary Ellen at this time. She later married
his brother, Gail Frederick Hibdon.
He was buried October 5, 1948.
