Tim was born on July 31, 1948, the son of the late Leon "PeeWee" and Jean (Rankin) Murphy.
Tim was an amazing art teacher, volleyball coach, teen town sponsor and most known, as the founder of Candy Cane Lane. He always put 110% into everything he did and made lasting impressions on the hearts' of so many. After retiring from teaching and coaching, he loved working in his tropical oasis backyard, his beautiful garden, making the most amazing stages for homecoming courts, proms, graduations, attending Redbird sporting activities and eating out. His love for Disney and Coca-Cola have been reflected in all of his paintings.
Tim is preceded in death by his loving parents, Leon "PeeWee" and Eugenia (Jean) Murphy and his stepbrother, Bill Murphy.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Murphy, niece, Michelle (Nate) Shaffer, aunt, Ramona (Charles) Anderson, great nephew and nieces, Evan, Ella, and Emme. Special friends Iris (Bobby) Kohzadi, Laela, Layton and Hailey, as well as many more dear friends and cousins. Tim affected so many lives; he was a kind, loving and generous man.
In honor of Tim Murphy, (Mr. Christmas), a final drive through Candy Cane Lane will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 10:45 a.m., and a graveside service, where he will be laid to rest, following the drive through, at approximately 11:00 a.m., at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Marion, Illinois. Those that wish to pay respects and say their final farewells are encouraged to line Candy Cane Lane as he passes through or attend the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
