Leah Geraldine “Gerry” Miller, 87, passed away peacefully at University Hospital in Columbia on December 26, 2020. Her husband, son, and daughter were blessed to have been able to spend time at her side on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Gerry was born April 8, 1933, in St. Louis to Glenn and Mayme (Hassler) Sullinger. She married William David “Bill” Miller on January 2, 1955, in St. Louis. Gerry and Bill would have celebrated their 66th anniversary this January.

During husband Bill’s career in the Air Force, Gerry put all her energy and love into making a home no matter where the military took them and their two children throughout the United States. Gerry served as a mentor and mother-away-from-home to the wives of Bill’s students in the Air Force navigation program. She was active in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, attending their many sporting events and serving as a room mother and Girl Scout leader at schools in Anchorage, Alaska; Virginia Beach, Virginia; St. Louis; San Antonio, Texas; Sacramento, California; Belle; and Jefferson City.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Kenneth Sullinger and Terry Sullinger. She is survived by her husband, Bill, Jefferson City; sister, Irma Dean Pipkins, Imperial; brothers, Dale Sullinger, St. Clair, and Bob (Kim) Sullinger, Summerfield, Florida; daughter, Lisa (Brad) Scroggs, Jefferson City; son, David Miller, Bland; grandsons, Skyler (Christine) Miller, Linn, Cole (Corrie Lynn Evans) Scroggs, Jefferson City, Kyle Scroggs, Denver, Colorado, and Logan (Rebekah) Miller, Spring Lake, North Carolina; two great granddaughters, Allis and Ella Miller; and several nephews and nieces.
