Also surviving are four children, Linda (John) Frintz of Williamsville, Kim Uphoff of Peoria, Kevin (Patti) Uphoff of Effingham and Kara (Dan) Pauley of Tremont; five granddaughters, Elizabeth Frintz of St. Louis, Rachel Frintz of Williamsville, Taylor (Isaac) Rumbold of Morton, Abbey Pauley of Tremont and Lyndsay Uphoff of Effingham; two grandsons, Cody Buchanan and Tyler (Darian) Uphoff both of Effingham; three great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Klaus of Eureka; one sister in law, Phyllis Emmons of Tremont and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers in law, Jim Klaus and William Emmons.
He served in the United States Army.
Robert worked eight years at the Interlocking Fence Co. in Morton and 30 years at Peoria Journal Star retiring in 1995. He later drove a shuttle van for Sam Lehman in Morton.
He served on the sheriff’s posse, P.T.A., City Treasure and water commissioner. He lived most his life in the Secor, Eureka, Goodfield area.
He was a member of the Eureka Church of the Nazarene where he served as church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. Robert attended the Tremont Baptist Church for many years.
Robert was a 20 plus gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross.
He loved the yearly vacation trips to Branson and the family gatherings. He was also a big sports fan as he attended most of all the Tremont High School events.
A private family memorial service will be at the Tremont Baptist Church. Pastor Noah Lee will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont. Arrangements entrusted to Davis-Oswald Funeral Home, Tremont, IL.
