Andrew "Drew" Preston Miller, 24 of 3rd Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Born in Albany, he was the son of Nancy A. Preston Roberts of Waterford and F. Michael Miller of Mechanicville; and stepson of Gary "Rabb" Roberts. He was a 2014 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School and was a member of the tennis team there for four years. Drew was employed as a welder at Philips Medical Corp for the past year. Prior to that, he worked at Fred's Tents and Canopies Inc. in Waterford and for Fed Ex in East Greenbush. Drew enjoyed snowboarding, paint ball, bowling and swimming but he especially loved children and animals, and was fond of his Bearded Dragon Cindy Diggs and his other pet lizard. He had a beautiful heart, full of love and his smile and vibe would light up a room when he walked in, and would also bring comic relief to any situation. Survivors in addition to his parents and stepfather include his companion, Danyell Howansky of Watervliet; and his half-brother, Michael Joseph Miller of Syracuse. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. A memorial service will be on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. Per pandemic regulations masks are required, social distancing practiced and occupancy limitations observed. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY, 12204.
