Charles A. Calton, 95, of Barnett died Friday, July 7, 1995, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Versailles.
He was born February 20, 1900, in Linn Creek to Richard and Talitha Hibdon Calton. On December 23, 1925, he was married at Purvis to Ada E. McCasland, who survives.
Mr. Calton was a farmer and stockman and member of the Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, John Calton of Versailles, Frank Calton of Tuscumbia, William Calton of Barnett and Lonnie Calton of Terre Haute, Indiana; four daughters, Nellie Hensley of Kansas City, Ruby Gardner of Pasadena, California, Lelia Thompson of Terre Haute, Indiana and Wanda Grace Gibbs of Springfield; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Rod Campbell officiating. Burial was in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
