Margareta Emma Maenius nee Meier of Albert passed away on Friday December 25th at the age of 94 years.
Margareta was born December 26, 1925 in Luckenbach, TX to Henry and Emma Brodbeck Meier.
Margareta married Hugo Maenius on October 17, 1945 in Trinity Lutheran Church.
Margareta is survived by 4 children and their spouses: Cheryl and Harold Bowers of Palacios, GK and Lynda Maenius of Ft Worth, Randall and Jackie Maenius of Mason, Russell and Jeanenne Maenius of Albert; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 6 graet great grandchildren. Sister: Marie Senff of Stonewall.
Along with her husband and parents, Margareta was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters: Edwin, Arthur, Albert, and Alfred Meier, Viola Gremmer, Elsa Rode, and Lydia Fishel
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday December 28th at 4:00 p.m. in the Wilke Family Cemetery with Rev. Percy Smerek officiating. Face coverings and social distancing is encouraged.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, or to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Schaetter Funeral Home.
