Mr. Amos was born in Etowah County in 1944 and was the 11th of 13 children. In 1964 he married his "baby" Mary Ann; the two went on to have 4 children together. An avid sports fan his entire life, Mr. Amos was a huge fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the White Plains Wildcats. He played many sports throughout his life, including baseball and basketball at Livingston Jr. High and Cherokee County High School. Other hobbies also included his beloved beagles which he used to hunt rabbits and his coon hounds to hunt coons all over Northeast Alabama. Mr. Amos was involved in his community and always helped his neighbors in need. For almost 30 years he provided for his family by working as a welder at the Anniston Army Depot until he retired in 1995. Mr. Amos was a beloved husband, father, Paw Paw Bear, and friend who will be deeply loved and missed.
