Martha Ann Ross, 73, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, in the Hospice Care Center.
She was born on November 25, 1947, to the late James and Mary Ellar Gordon. She was a 1965 graduate of Howard High School. After working for several years, Martha, found her passion as an entrepreneur, where she continued operations until her latter days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ross; son, Sedrick Allen Sr.; sisters, Linda Gordon, and Margaruth Hammonds; brothers, Leonard Boykins, James Gordon Jr., Benjamin Gordon, Harold Jackson, and Edward Jackson.
Survivors include her daughters, Drusilla Allen and Cynthia Smartt; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; sisters, Suzanne Celestine and Margerine Ramsey; brothers, Sammy Jackson, Robert Jackson, and James Lee Gordon; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Martha will lie in state on Monday, Jan. 4, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Family service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Donald Rollins as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
