McWhorter, Mark Wayne, born Jan 23, 1949, slipped his earthly bounds for eternal heaven on Aug 12, 2012 at the Veterans Home of CA in Barstow. Cause of death was cancer. Family and friends are grief stricken but at the same time joyful that he is now in heaven with his Lord and Savior, his earth father Claude and other friends and family who have gone before him. As Mark so often said, "Praise be to God!" He had graduated from Pioneer High School in Whittier, CA. Mark was a Navy Vietnam veteran, scuba diver, NRA member, faithful Christian, truck driver, electrical designer (worked with both brothers), cigar smoker, coin collector, philanthropist and train and plane buff. Favorite Bible verses of his were Psalm 18:2 & Psalm 23, and the end of his life perfectly reflects James 1:12. He leaves behind loving mother, Delona Louise; stepfather, Lew; older brother, Claude Lee; younger brother, Orville Dean; four nieces, Leanne, Kristi, Jenny and Brandi; their spouses and children. His wishes will be met for cremation, burial at sea and a small, private ceremony of family and close friends. So Mark, until we see you again, we love you, we miss you and God bless you! The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite church or charity be given in Mark's name.
