COX-Elinor V., 79, (Feb 14, 1926–Oct 1, 2005) of East Hampton, New York on October 1, 2005, at Stony Brook Hospital from a brain aneurysm. Beloved wife of the late William Jr. Loving mother of the late Patricia. Survived by her son, William W. Cox III, of New Canaan. Widely known as "Bunny", a lifetime resident of Long Island. Raised in Port Washington until marriage, whereupon moving to Glen Head where she resided thru 1975; retiring with her husband to East Hampton where together they operated the 3 Mile Harbor Fishing Station. A lover of the outdoors and animals, devoted lifelong gardener and craftswoman, particularly known for her quilting. A volunteer at The Community Hospital of Glen Cove and, thereafter, The Southampton Hospital. Member of the Glen Garden and Southampton Garden Clubs. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of East Hampton, 120 Main Street, at 11:00 am Friday, October 7, 2005. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to ARF (Animal Rescue Fund) of the Hamptons or East End Hospice.
