Nicolas “Blake” Smith, age 35, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. He will be forever missed by his friends and family.
Blake was born January 6, 1985 in Dequeen, Arkansas, to Danny Ray & Marsha Ann Smith. He was a delight as a child and was always into some outdoor activity. He attended schools in Broken Bow, Oklahoma before moving to Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma with his Mother. He loved playing football with the Broken Bow Savages as well as the Ft. Gibson Tigers. He excelled in all sports he played. He graduated from High School in May of 2003.
Blake was an avid outdoorsman year around. He had a love of hunting whether it be fishing, deer, quail, elk… He did it all and truly loved every minute of it. He has passed on this great love of hunting and camping to each of his 3 children. Blake’s true joy was spending time with his kids and taking all 3 of them to the lake, river and rodeos. He was a proud Dad and beamed with joy watching his son Hunter play sports. Blake defended his kids anytime it was needed. His favorite saying was “Always Fight and Stand Up for the Ones You Love, Tell Them Often and Show Them Daily.”
Blake was preceded in death by his beloved Daddy and best friend Danny Ray Smith of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; Grandparents: Nana Barbara Bean of Muskogee Oklahoma, and Grandparents Papa Billy & Granny Edith Smith of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his Mom, Marsha Ann Bean of Muskogee Oklahoma; sister Marisa Smith Oman, three children Alexxis “Lexxy” Shayde, Hunter Gage, Kenadi Nicole and Blakely Ann Smith, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Nieces Gracie Burris, Braden Burris, Tristyn Oman and nephew Breken Oman, all of Muskogee Oklahoma. Many Aunts, uncles & cousins mourn his loss as well. He loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays. He truly loved his Nana’s homemade rolls!
Blake’s Mom would like to give a special thanks to her sister Martha Dixon who has not left her side and is always going above and beyond for her, as well as Brittni Boling-Kline (Hunter’s Mom), who has been a tremendous help to the family during this most difficult time. In addition, a special appreciation to her VA Team and Coach Jennifer Waltz who continually checks on her daily.
During this time, the family has chosen not to have a service and wants friends and family to remember Blake as they always knew him.
