John P. Engelardt, 95 passed away Jan. 9, 2013 at St. Peter's University hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Sayerville, he has resided in East Brunswick since 1953. Prior to retiring in 1978, he worked as a rigger for DuPont in Parlin for 42 years. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a First Class Aviation Radionman on a B24 Liberator bomber stationed in North Africa and the Azores. Mr. Engelhardt was a communicant of St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Wondowski Engelhardt in 1978. Surviving are his son, John D. Engelhardt and his wife Gabriella of East Brunswick; 2 daughters, Denise Weir and her husband, Thomas of Millstone Township and Kathleen Bartol of Bridgewater, NJ; 4 grandchildren: Shannon Weir, Erika (Tim) Hennika, Jonathan and Nicholas Engelhardt; and 3 great grandchildren: Jerry and Maria Hennika and Antonio Engelhardt
