Michael Monroe Needham - 71 of Maynardville, entered the Heavenly Gates on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center following a short battle with Covid-19. He was very patriotic and a proud Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U S Army achieving the rank of Specialist 5th Class. Michael was a very loving and kind man and never met a stranger. Everyone who knew him loved him and he had a very contagious smile and personality. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Otha Needham; and a special brother-in-law, Steve Stooksbury. Michael is survived by sisters, Shirlene (H. E.) Booker of Gray, Tennessee and Kimberly (Ron) Presley of Maynardville; brother, Gregory Needham of Maynardville; several nieces and nephews, two great nieces; one great nephew; and very special friend of many years, Dr. Bruce Allsop and family. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Elmcroft of Halls staff, FMC Ft. Sanders Dialysis Clinic and Ft. Sanders ICU.
A call at your convenience will be in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow with Dr. Alan Price officiating with a eulogy by Dr. Bruce Allsop. Due to COVID-19 concerns please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance of Lynnhurst Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 for a 1:00 p.m. interment.
