Verda Lou Underwood was born on July 12, 1933 in Konawa, Oklahoma to David Randolph and Pearl (Horath) Etchieson; she passed away at her home in Chouteau on December 21, 2020 at the age of 87.
Verda’s family moved to Arizona, where she eventually met, fell in love with, and married Emmitt Underwood on September 23, 1950. After living some time in San Diego, they moved back to Arizona and started a family. She was a good mother and taught her kids early on about the love of Jesus Christ. She also liked to help people and was an LPN for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by her son, Randy Underwood and wife Cheryl of Pryor; granddaughter, Christel Byrom and husband Daniel of Glenpool; two great grandchildren, Faith and Colt Byrom and sister, Betty Underwood and husband Winston of Camp Verde, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emmitt; son, Timothy Underwood; grandson, Bobby Keirsey , as well as nine siblings.
