Randy R. “Lightning” Powell, 64, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Unity Point Hospital-Muscatine. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, 2907 Mulberry Avenue, Muscatine. Interment will be in Cranston Cemetery. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, all attendees will be required to wear a face covering and social distancing will be enforced. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Randy’s name.

Randy Ray Powell was born on July 10, 1956 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Thomas Leland Powell, Sr. and Erma Ramona (Kerschenske) Powell. Randy had worked on the Harbaugh Game Farm from the age of 13 in 1969 until 2011. He was a former member of the High Prairie United Methodist Church and enjoyed farming, exotic animals, cruising Facebook, playing Farmville and having coffee with his friends at the Clark House prior to Covid.

Randy will be missed by his siblings. Cora (Keith) Stepanek of Iowa city, Kathleen Clayton of Davenport, Retha Slager of North Liberty and Thomas Leland (Kelly) Powell, Jr. of Muscatine; brother-in-law, Rodney Butler of Muscatine; nine nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews and best friend who he enjoyed talking with daily, Karen Burhop.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Butler; brother-in-law, Dale Slager and his beloved cat, Mr. H.
