Steven Lee Shaw, son of James Leland Shaw and Shirley Louise Secrest Shaw was born Aug 15, 1954 in Augusta, GA and passed from this life Monday, Dec 7th, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 66 years of age.
Steve and his family resided in Stuart, IA till 1967. The family then moved to Osceola and he graduated in 1972. Steve married Debra Bacon in 1978 and they had 2 daughters together - Candace and Jaime. They later divorced. His partner was Rita Renae Eckhart for the last 31 years.
Steve began farming with his dad while growing up. He, also, worked with Dennis and Verla Cole through a COE program in high school. After graduation he worked on farming on his own, at Charlie Woods Feed Service and Darrell Mateer farming. He then began driving and dispatching for Big & Small Trucking and driving part-time for Randy Diehl. Steve had been with Feed Energy out of Des Moines for the last 15 years as a truck driver.
Steve was a member of the Methodist Church, Clarke County Young Farmers and has been very involved with the Clarke County Youth Rodeo.
Steve loved anything to do with cowboys, ranching, and Horses. He was a hard worker with a big gruff voice who was a true "teddy bear" that would do nearly anything for anyone. Most of all, Steve loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Those relatives who preceded Steven in death were his mother and father, his grandparents, Marianna & Les Secrest and Arthur and Inez Shaw and great-grandmother Dorothy Johnston.
Steve leaves to cherish his memory; Rita of Osceola; Children, Shawnda (Heath) Cozad of Indianola; Dillon Eckhardt of Osceola; Candace Cummings and Jaime Shaw, both of Osceola. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Shelby (Alex), Shea, Dylan (Abbie), Janie, Jesse, Morgan, Blaine, Bailey, Tristen and Reese, great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Alaya, Adalynn, Weston, and Waylon; sisters, Susan (Randy) Diehl of Osceola and Linda Redman of Osceola; Brother, Jim (Joyce) Shaw of Murray, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relative and many many friends.
