In the early hours of Friday, December 11, 2020, Mildred Sanders, a loving wife and mother of four children, transitioned at the wonderful age of 93.

Mildred was born on November 27, 1927 in Waynesboro, Mississippi to Lee Brady Sr. and Gracie (Robinson) Brady. At an early age, she moved from Waynesboro to Sandusky, Ohio where she attended school. In 1951, she married Robert Sanders who preceded her in death in December 1991. She had four daughters; Ferne, Diane, Gloria, & Mary Ellen and one stepson; Eddie.

Mildred retired from Whirlpool in 1994 after 20 years of employment and prior to that she worked at Tecumseh Products as well as several other service jobs.

She had a passion for baking as well as tending to her garden. She also loved to crochet which led her to complete a numerous amount of clothing and household items all made with her loving and meticulous handiwork. Mildred also enjoyed her daytime soap operas, particularly the Young and the Restless as well as working on her crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alberta and Loretta and her brothers; Lee Brady Jr., George, and Sylvester, her daughter, Gloria, and stepson, Eddie.

She leaves to mourn her sisters, Majorie Johnson, Toledo, OH. and Gladys Williams, Toledo, OH., her daughters, Ferne (Bennett) Starkey, Charlotte, NC, Diane Doss, Mississippi, and Mary Ellen Holmes, Los Angeles, CA, her grandchildren Erica Starkey, Malik (Diamond) Shabazz, Shoshanna Shabazz, Damici Shabazz, and 2 great grandchildren, Taj and Bianca Shabazz as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and loving and caring friends (Katie Hairston and Juanita Nelson).

Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 12 Noon until service time at 1:00 PM. Pastor Michael Wade will be officiating with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery. A virtual service will be held for Mildred on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM EST to be provided the day of the service.

The family wishes to thank everyone who sent cards, offered prayers, condolences, called to comfort, or offered help. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of your choice. May God continue to richly bless and keep you.
