Earlene Marie Lewis, 76, of Dewey, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
Earlene was born January 26, 1944, Wann, Oklahoma, to parents William Earl and Ada Marie (Johnson) Lewis. She graduated from Dewey High School in 1962 and also received her Associates degree from Coffeyville Community College.
She co-owned Lewis Drug Sundries in Copan, where she was known for making the best cheeseburgers around. She then worked for HC Price and Central States before starting her approximately 40 year career at Wal-Mart.
Earlene loved to paint, go to the casino and take “drives”. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother George Benton Lewis.
Earlene was survived by her brother Vernon Ray and wife Anna Lewis of Bartlesville; niece Shelly and Roy Wright, nephews Todd and Kristin Lewis, Michael Lewis and Justin and Holly Lewis, all of Dewey and Butch, Billy and Rusty Lewis of Colorado, Dennis Allison and Julie Berry; 6 great nieces and nephews; 4 great great nieces and nephews; lots of cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel from 9am to 5pm, Monday from 9am to 6pm and the family will greet friends Monday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm, also at Stumpff Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Dewey Cemetery.
