Obituary for Mrs. Frances R. "Fran" Gray
Frances R. “Fran” Gray, 86, a resident of Nashville, Indiana, passed from this life at 2:04 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Garden Villa in Bloomington, Indiana.
Mrs. Gray was born December 26, 1933, in a small community near Champaign, Illinois, the daughter of the late Paul and Clara Andersen Coay. On November 1, 1953, Fran married James C. “Jim” Gray; he preceded her in death December 10, 2019.
Mrs. Gray was a wonderful mom to her three children. In the late 1970s, she formed Greenbrier Incorporated to be the exclusive international representative of her husband Jim’s artwork. She retired as president of Greenbrier Incorporate. In her later years, with her husband Jim, she enjoyed their dogs Barnum and Bailey and the love of all of her family.
Fran was blessed with a life lived well, filled with accomplishment, surrounded by loved ones and strolled through with the love of her life.
Her life will be cherished by her children, Laurie Schmohl of Huntsville, Alabama, Chris (Marion) Gray of Warren, Maine and Matt (Amy) Gray of Nashville, Indiana; grandchildren, Brienne (Derek) Babcock, Evan (Laura) Carter, Daniel (Sakina) Gray, Chelsey (Stuart) Tyson, Hannah Gray, Josie Gray and Tanner Gray; great-grandchildren, Dylan Carter and Charley Ann Tyson; and her brother, Don (Rita) Coay of Ely, Minnesota.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; brother, David Coay; and sisters, Ruby Wrench and Rosemary Judd.
In keeping with Mrs. Gray’s wishes, cremation is planned. No services will take place at this time, a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
