Surrounded by family who loved her, Lois Ann Solomon, devoted wife and mother of five, has passed away at the age of 82.
Born to Sarah Lois and Huel Arthur Turner on September 21,1938 in Wichita Falls, where she lived and worked.
Extremely passionate about her Christian faith, her church (Faith Baptist), and her family, Lois will always be remembered by those who knew her as an unfailingly gracious hostess who welcomed multiple generations of family and friends into her home for holiday celebrations.
The skill that her friends, siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren display in family games can be traced directly to her dining room table and to the decorative cabinet next to it, which held every type of card, domino, and board game known to man. Lois was especially noted for her insistence on correct etiquette and decorous language, whether in the thrill of gaming victory or the agony of gaming defeat. The fun and laughter that came alive in her home, as well as the innumerable sumptuous holiday feasts that she hosted, will be fondly recalled for generations. Her house always had a place for everyone and was impossible to fill up. Her graciousness as a hostess will remain forever unsurpassed.
Lois was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Grady Solomon; as well as by her son, Randy; her grandson, Danny Meza Jr.; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Meza.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Meza Hayman and spouse, Eugene; son Danny Ray Meza and spouse, Karmen; her daughter Penny Lynn Meza, and her youngest daughter, Tracy Ann Horton; she is also survived by her siblings Betty Green, Carolyn and Bill Raney, Arthur Henry Turner, and Janice Green, as well as by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home at 1317 9th Street, in Wichita Falls, from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:30 am, at the same location with Pastor Larry Shields, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Following the burial there will be a fellowship meal at Faith Baptist Church on Rhea Rd.
