Louis Mitchell Martin, 87, passed away on December 22, 2020 at 11:30am in Norfolk. Louis was born in Halifax, VA on August 19, 1933 to Averitte T. Martin and Nora Wade Martin. He was married to Betty De Jarnettte Martin for 63 years and 9 months. Louis is also survived by his son, Michael L. Martin and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Cindy Martin Ansell; three grandsons, Jordan Martin, Trenton Martin and Josh Woodhouse; granddaughter, Melissa Woodhouse; great granddaughter, Avery Martin and another great- granddaughter expected in April 2021. Louis was previous employed with the Virginia Railroad for nine and half years. Afterward, he worked for ET Gresham Company, Inc. as a crane operator for 32 years. He loved watching football in his spare time, he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Monday, December 28, 2020 at Woodlawn Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior starting at 1pm. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.woodlawnnorfolk.com.
