James grew up and attended school at Ada and Byng. He joined the U. S. Marines out of high school and served during the Korean War. On September 23, 1983, James married Jeannie Smith in Azle, Texas. He was worked as a self-employed welder for many years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of Beaty Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed yard work, bowling, and welding. The highlights of his life were his wife, grandchildren, and great-grandkids. He taught others to love the Lord. James always wanted others to know the Lord and be saved, follow Him and do His work.
