Bessie Marie Scott, 86, died on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on September 17, 1934 at Hooker , Oklahoma the daughter of Alva and Muriel Kreiger Dunn. She married Bob Scott on November 2, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Bessie attended the Hooker Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1954. After her marriage she lived in Sublette, Kansas, Dalhart, Texas, and Salt Lake City, Utah returning to Hooker in 1967. She made a career as the cafeteria manager of the local district, retiring in 2010 after 25 years of service. She served an estimated 4,375 lunches, 2,200 breakfasts, and 125 banquets in her quarter century of service. She loved the children and her co-workers.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, boating, camping, traveling to see family, and shopping to find a bargain. Bessie’s favorite times were spent with her family, she was an excellent cook and everyone looked forward to her meals. She spent her life caring for family and friends. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her Children- Donny (Brenda) Scott, Terry Scott, and Mark (Rachel) Scott, Grandchildren- Tami, Amber, Molly, Chris, Tabitha, Treye, Jennifer, Eric, and Adrian, Great-Grandchildren- Morgan, Marcus, Tyke, Hannah, Deven, Dakota, Harper, Michael, Daylan, Dalton, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Donovan, Mia, Adria, Autumn, Jace, Audrye, Alexis, Maesa, and Olivia, Brother- Tom Dunn, Sister- Margaret Dunn, Special Cousin- Roy Kreiger, and Lifelong Friend- Ruby Maynard.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, three Sisters- Mae Dunn, Betty Blesdoe, and Nettie Brifges, Daughter-in-Law- Willa Scott, Sister-in-Law- Charlotte Dunn, and a very close Cousin- Marlene Cantrell.

There will be no services at this time a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hooker Animal Shelter.
