December 4, 1956 – December 21, 2020
On Monday, December 21, 2020, John Gibbons, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 64 in Pensacola, FL, surrounded by his son and daughter.
John was born on December 4, 1956 in Henderson, KY to Lester and Mary Lee (Sizemore) Gibbons. He served 20 years in the US Navy and then worked for the USPS until his retirement in 2019. On January 23, 1978 he married Rosario Paderagao. Together, they raised a son and a daughter, Richard and Michelle.
John gave everything for his family. He was reliable, consistent, and committed. He considered others’ needs before his, even unto his death. If you ever needed a favor, he was willing to help. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, everyone listened. He was strong, on the inside and out. He will be missed beyond measure. Although our hearts ache deeply, we know he will be looking down from heaven on us.
John is survived by Rosie his wife of 42 years, his 2 children Richard and Michelle (Lang); his granddaughter, Skylar; his mother, Mary Bradley; and his siblings William, Gloria, Shirley, and David."
The family has chosen to have a private family service at Trahan Family Funeral Home, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please call 850-438-6235 for any information. Thank you for your understanding during this time of need.
