Obituary for David Leon Tierney
David L. Tierney, 78, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on Dec. 22, 2020.

David was born May 10, 1942, in Brockton, MA, to the late James F. and Mildred A. (Terry) Tierney.

He joined the U.S. Army in Oct. 1962, and received an honorable discharge from Fort Campbell, KY in 1964 with a Parachutist Badge and Marksman Badge.

David moved to Anderson, Indiana in 1965 with his wife and daughter where he began his employment with General Motors. He served as the President of the UAW Local 662 and was nominated by his union to house Sen. Edward "Ted" Kennedy during a visit to Anderson in 1980. He was also a leader of the Anderson Leadership Academy in 1983.

David is survived by his daughter, Crista Byers Keesling (Punta Gorda, Florida), brother and his wife, Ronald and Susan Tierney (Brockton, Massachusetts), several nieces and nephews, special friends, and his loving kitty, Whiskers.

A special "thank you" to Sugar Fork Crossing and Countryside Health Services in Anderson, Indiana.

A celebration of life will be announced later.
