Diane Thompson, 73, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2020 in Montrose, PA, to reunite with her beloved mother, Muriel, her precious son, Christopher, and her loving husband, Bruce, all of whom left her too soon on this earth.
Diane, a.k.a., "Nana," was born on August 8, 1947 in Neshanic, NJ where she shared many fond memories with family and friends. In those days Diane could be found walking with friends along the pipeline, finding adventures in the woods or riding her bike up Zion Mountain. Diane graduated from Somerville High School in 1965 and soon after, married Wasyel Danysh II. They had three children together, Wasyel, Christopher and Erik.
After raising her children, Diane was hired by L'Oreal and dedicated 25 years to them as a shipping and receiving manager. At L'Oreal, Diane was referred to as "The Queen" by her co-workers, who eventually became some of her lifelong friends. She is remembered as a loyal and diligent employee who brought laughter to their long work days. Then, during this time, Diane found true happiness in her soulmate, Bruce Thompson. They were married on October 26, 1985 and spent 15 joyous years together, sharing a quaint home in Kingwood, NJ.
Upon retirement Diane would divide her time between her homes in Kingwood and Kingsley, PA, both of which fostered her love for wildlife and the outdoors. Diane found peace in planting flowers, feeding deer, spotting bears or foxes and in the simple beauty of nature.
However, above all, Diane loved her family. She showered her children and four grandchildren with her unconditional love. They will remember their Nana dressing up every Halloween, baking cookies and cakes on a Saturday afternoon, sitting around a table playing board games, running around the house playing hide and seek, snuggling on the couch watching movies, or giving one of her enormous hugs.
The rest of us will remember Diane for her remarkable inner strength, her fun-loving spirit, her funny, little laugh, her generous heart, and her kind nature. Whether Diane was dancing to her favorite 50's and 60's music, having lunch with a friend, hiking in the woods, or just shopping at Walmart, she cherished her life experiences, as they held more value to her than anything money could buy. Our lives will not be the same without her.
Diane is survived by her sons, Wasyel and Erik; daughters-in-law, Denise and Christa; and grandchildren, Nicole, Erika, Christopher and Brook.
Due to the pandemic, in January, an outdoor blessing of the ashes will take place at Neshanic Cemetery.
