Kenneth Cleo “Ken” Wheeler passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, surrounded by his family at the age of 73 years. He was born on Wednesday, August 27, 1947, to Cleo and Loma (Holt) Wheeler in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. At age 10, Ken’s family moved to Oregon where he graduated from Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon in 1965.

On Saturday, August 22, 1987, Ken married the love of his life, Polly Scism, in Benton, Arkansas. The couple settled in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and began Wheeler Roofing.

Ken retired in 2007 due to declining health. Ken was saved in 1987 and was a member of Living Water Church in Broken Arrow. He was a mentor at David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center in Tulsa and was a volunteer coach for the Salvation Army. Ken enjoyed football, basketball and fishing.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Wheeler and Loma Evans, and his brother, Gary Wheeler.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Polly Wheeler, of the home; children, Ken Allen Wheeler of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sheila Renee Lawson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Shelly Denise Chadic of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Laveda Haas of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Debra Ann Wheeler of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brothers, Carl Wheeler and his wife, Marty, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Ron Wheeler of Washington state; and sister-in-law Debra Ann Wheeler of Collinsville, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other extended family and a lifetime of friends. Ken will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Luke Reinert, Cody Manor, Brian Wheeler, Billy Wheeler, Eddie Haas and Austin Chadic will serve as Casket Bearers. Private burial will follow in Park Grove Cemetery under the direction of John Garrett.
