She married Stanley Smith in August of 1947. The couple lived in Springfield, Missouri. She was a member of Republic Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 1 brother, her husband, and 1 grandson. She is survived by her 4 children: Sue Wyas, Barbara Taylor and her husband Mark Taylor; Rick Smith; Ron Smith and his wife Trina. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
