SIMONSON, MR. MICHAEL (Husband of Margaret) Muskegon Mr. Michael Simonson, age 53, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 surrounded by those he loved. He was born May 13, 1955 in Reed City, MI to Glenn and Patricia (Martz) Simonson and has lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. He was employed with Acemco for over ten years in different capacities. During his time at Acemco, he grew to love and respect each and everyone he worked beside. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and seeing to it that the birds in his neighborhood were well fed. Mike was an avid University of Michigan sports fan. Throughout his life his support for the Wolverines remained unwavering, even though two of his daughters went on to graduate from Michigan State University. Mike married the love of his life, Margaret Bernard, on May 20, 1995, the couple recently celebrated their thirteenth wedding anniversary. Mike is survived by his wife, Margaret Bernard along with his 4 children, Melissa (David) James of Kalamazoo, Amy (Paul Bisson) Simonson of California, Rebecca (Colby Cuppernull) Simonson of Chicago, and Katie Simonson of California; 2 step-children, Samantha Carrillo of Muskegon and Thomas Bernard of Ionia; 5 grandchildren and "the boys." He is also survived by his mother Patricia; 1 brother, Mark (Robin) Simonson of Monroe, MI; and 2 sisters, Sue (Roger) Grotefeld of Montague and Julie (Tim) Torrey of N. Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn. Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 Visitation with the family will be 2 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Fruitport Cemetery.
