Richard Y. Tayerle, 86 years of age, passed away Thursday October 3, 2013 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio on December 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Yaro and Jessie (Jobe) Tayerle.

Richard was a lifetime Mantua area resident, and was a graduate of the Mantua School System. He was a member of the Mantua-Center Christian Church, and had served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He had been a dedicated employee of Carlon Products retiring after 30 years of service.Richard enjoyed and was a talented woodworker in his leisure time.

On March 1, 1952, he married Carol J. (Kline) Tayerle who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Owen (Jody) Tayerle of Mantua, Gayle (Steve) Dodge of Woodlands, Texas and Linda Furner of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, his brothers Robert (Ima) Tayerle of Mesa, Arizona and Jerry (Clare) Tayerle of Mantua, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Lois Bogan. No calling hours. A family graveside service will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township with military honors provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at the Mantua-Center Christian Church with Rev. Chad Delaney officiating at a time to be announced.
