OBITUARY FOR MICHAEL PHARICE GARNER Kansas, OK- Funeral services for Michael Pharice Garner will be held on a later date due to the COVID pandemic. Michael or Mike to his many friends, was born on October 7th, 1963, in Siloam Springs, AR, the son of Dale and Donna (Russell) Garner. He grew up with one sister and one brother, Dalene Garner-Davis and husband Jeffrey of Kansas, OK, and James Garner of Oaks, OK. He attended school at Kansas Public Schools and then later completed his Bachelors degree at Northeastern State University. He worked in the entertainment industry for Cherokee Nation and was the man that always took time to tell you hi, ask about your day, and make you feel like you were talking to an old friend. When he wasn’t working, he could be found at the ball games, both football and basketball, and the number one fan of the Kansas Comets! He was generous and never hesitated to help anyone that asked. Everyone was Mike’s friend, he was always there, smile on his face, and ready to assist when asked. Mike loved his family, he liked gathering for holidays or special events just to share a meal and the day. A Christian by faith, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kansas, OK. He loved his church family and really felt at home there. He experienced a decline in health and passed from his illness on December 19th, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. He was 57 years old and will be greatly missed for all his kind smiles and the love he shared. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess and Pauline (Bowerman) Russell and Pharice and Nellie (Bradley) Garner, and his dad, Dale Garner. He goes to rest at Russell-Double Springs Cemetery with his family. The family wishes to thank the community for keeping them in their thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
