Mark was a proud 1989 graduate of Pine Valley Central School. He graduated from Fredonia State College and the University at Buffalo. He spent the last 20 years as a library media specialist in the Portville, Pine Valley and Salamanca City School districts. He also taught driver's education for 13 years and served as the Director of Athletics at Pine Valley for eight years.
Mark loved going to work every day and working with his students. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Pirates and treasured spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother; his grandparents, Evert and Stella Carlson; and Ernest and Joyce Chase. Survivors include his father; his three siblings; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Schindler Funeral Home, 44 Center Street in Gowanda from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, December 20 (masks required).
A private family interment will take place in the Cherry Creek Central Cemetery.
