Richard Douglas Welch of Allen, Texas passed away on December 20, 2019 at the age of 89. He was born on July 19, 1931 to R.D. and Martha (Ingram) Welch in Valdasta, Texas. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Melba Joyce Tyler on July 24, 12974 in McKinney, Texas. Richard worked at J.C. Penney in McKinney for 45 years.

He is survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, J.E., John, Cecil, Robert, Roby, Jesse, and Jack; and sisters, Opal Woodard and Bernice Mantooth.

Family and friends are invited to Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen, at their convenience on Wednesday until 12:30 p.m. to pay their respects and to sign the register book.

A graveside service will be help at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
