Dorothy Ruth Britton, 91, of Plainview, departed this earthly world and entered heaven's gates on December 21, 2020. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Bartley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 23, 2020 starting at 10 a.m. up until services begin.
Dorothy was born on December 6, 1929 to Robert Lee and Velma Maude Thomas in Pilot Point, Texas. She grew up and went to school in Anton, Texas. Dorothy married Herman Rayford Britton on June 3, 1963 in Levelland, Texas. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and painting. She was known as kindhearted and strong. She loved life to the fullest and was the best mom in the world. She loved her children, grandkids, great, and great greats. They were her world.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Judy Ruth Allen of Plainview, Glenda Faye Summers and husband, Roger, of Plainview, and Rodney David Moss of Arlington, two step-daughters; Karen Britton of Boaz, Alabama and Donna Dane and husband, Jimmy, of Midland, grandchildren; Amy Bruce, Nathan Bruce, Jessica Bruce, Jimmy Bruce, Daniel Naron, Nicolas Moss, Cody Naron, and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great.
