Ruth E. Bartlett, 93, of Russell, Kansas, died on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the Main Street Manor in Russell.

Ruth was born on September 04, 1927, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Allen Ray and Jessie (Herron) Scott. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Myron Keith Bartlett on January 11, 1948, in Russell, Kansas. From this union they were blessed with three children Lonnie, Terri and Traci. As a teenager she worked as a soda shop server at Dawson’s Pharmacy and for Home State Bank and later in life she worked for several years as an administrative secretary for Paradise Grade School. She also worked hard as a rancher’s wife and homemaker. She was a longtime member of Paradise United Methodist Church in Paradise, Kansas, and held various church offices. She was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group and Paradise pitch club for 50 years. She enjoyed art work, and taking writing classes from various colleges and spending time with her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her son Lonnie K. Bartlett of Paradise, Kansas; daughters Terri Weinhold and husband Al of Salina, Kansas and Traci Peterson of Lindsborg, Kansas; sister Carol Murphy of Russell, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Myron on January 07, 2011, brothers Richard, Howard, Glen and Don Scott; sister Mary Ann Melasecca and Bessie Maranville and a granddaughter Allison Woods.

A graveside service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Mt. Hermon Cemetey in Paradise, Kansas. Visitation will be from Noon to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Paradise United Methodist Church and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of the funeral service arrangements
