She was born in Monroe on April 7, 1956 to the late Roy and Beulah Benton. She was a graduate of Piedmont High School. She was married to Larry Carter on February 12, 1981.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a friend to those who knew and loved her. No one could make homemade biscuits like her. She worked at Perfect Fit Industries in the labeling department.
She is survived by her children Monica Sue and Michael Shane Carter; granddaughter, Christen Elizabeth Carter; great grandson, Harley Scott Hayes; siblings, Carolyn Hicks, Pamela Pressley, Roy Benton, Jr., Dennis Benton, Douglas Benton, Ray Benton, and many nieces, nephews.
Graveside service and Interment will be held 2:00 PM December 22, 2020 at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Matthews, NC. Family is in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel.
