Shirley Donaldson Benson, 81, passed away peacefully July 9th, 2017, in Englewood, Florida, with her loving daughter Becci by her side. Shirley was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Benson, parents, Durrell Lee and Virgie Mary (Woodcock) Donaldson, and brother D. Lee Donaldson, Jr.

After retiring from Nursing and Real Estate while living in Atlanta for 32 years, she returned to Savannah, and later retired from Hubert Baker Funeral Home. She was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and also did volunteer work at the local hospital. She is survived by two sons, Michael Henry (Regina) Benson of Cleves, OH and Robert Steven (Cathy) Benson of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Rebecca Ann (Bob) Sapporito of Englewood, FL; two sisters, Mary Cecile Linton of Savannah, Ga. and Linda Gail (Tony) Battle of Peeler, SC; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 13th from 9:30 am to 10 am at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel with Funeral Service at 10 am with Rev. John Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery. Baker McCullough Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
