Carl retired from the City of Mansfield. He was well known for his smiling eyes, beautiful white hair, gentle manner and kindness shown to others. He had a big heart and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially attending family bonfires and outings. He loved to ride around the neighborhood with his true love, Jackie, in his shiny red golf cart. Carl liked to golf, bowl and take his boat out on Lake Erie and fish. He also liked visiting the local VFW and Moose Lodge and was a member of AMVETS Post #26 for 30 years. Carl was known to be a snow bird during the winter season and would travel to Orange Beach, Alabama. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
Carl is survived by his fiancée, Jackie Myers; six children, Greg (Trina) Morgan, Mike Morgan, Cindy (Bob) Schmatz, Carla (Jeff) Schwein, Cheryl Kincaid and Andy (Dawn) Morgan; seven grandchildren, Brynna Morgan, Audrey Schmatz, Ryan Schmatz, Taylor Schwein, Jeremy Kincaid, Michael Kincaid and Amber Daughtery; a few great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Laurie Snyder) Morgan; sisters, Garnett Morgan (Larry) Fulmer and Debbie Morgan (Ralph) Ammons; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Carl’s favorite bible verse was found in Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. A memorial service will follow thereafter beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Green officiating. He will be laid to rest at Mansfield Memorial Park.
