A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Carl James Horton and Mildred Duncan Pitts, he was a retired employee of Chemgard and a member of Tucapau Baptist Church. Mr. Horton was a devoted Christian, husband, father, son, and “Poppi” to his two grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Jones Horton of the home; a daughter, Christy Shaw (Dozier) of West Columbia; a brother, Jimmy Horton of Greer; and two-grandchildren, Jacob Dozier Shaw, USMC and Holland Elizabeth Shaw.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by Rev. Jeff Eubanks.
Visitation will be held after the service at the cemetery.
The family respectfully request that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be observed.
