George was born on May 24, 1955, in Winston Salem, NC. He was the son of the late George Carroll Cox and Dorothy Ramsey Cox. George retired from BI-LO as a mechanic for the food trucking industry. He enjoyed being outdoors. George loved working and farming on his tractor, hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Darlene Cox; one step-son, Allen Furr (Sheila); three step-daughters, Tammy Beatrice Mitchell (David), Sharon Gail Newkirk, and Ashley Darlene Nance (Richie); one brother, Tommy Ray Cox (Judy); two sisters, Shirley Bayne (Ray) and Carolyn Ray (Michael); nine grandchildren and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
