This may be an Antoine Shonyo (spelled variously Antonio, Antoine, Antwine; Shonyo, Shanyo, Shongo, Shoneo) who was born ca. 1796 in Canada; married about December 27, 1818 to Lattice Elliot (spelled variously Lattice, Lettie; Elliot, Elliott) in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Likely previously resided in Vermont and in Constable, Franklin County, New York. Served in Captain James Flanders' company, 45th US Infantry; enlisted February 18, 1814.

He may possibly be the father of Mary (Shonyo) Wilder (b. 1820, d. 1842 in Malone, New York).

Probable father of Antwine Shonyo (b. 1827, d. 1891) buried in Fort Jackson Hopkinton Cemetery. May also be father of Richard, Horace, Sophia, William, others.
