Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Mrs. Coker loved animals and supported no-kill shelters. She was an avid reader and loved native American history. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Bunny" and Frona Payne, and sister, Teresa Rose.
Mrs. Coker is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard Coker of Macon; children, Stacy Carr (Morris), Shannon Coker, and Brian Coker all of Macon; grandchildren, Evan Carr and Sam Coker; sister, Cynthia Bridges of Knoxville, Tennessee; brother, Charles Payne (Phylliss) of Knoxville; step-father, Charles Jenkins, of Knoxville; faithful canine companion, Dixie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
