Roy Lee Stevens, Jr, 63, of McAlester, died Friday, December 18, 2020 at his residence.

The family will greet visitors and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Bishop Funeral Service. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Roy Lee was born to Roy Lee and Barbara (West) Stevens on September 11, 1957 in Missouri. Roy grew up in Kingfisher and graduated from Okarche High School in 1976.

He was a bull rider in the rodeo and enjoyed the cowboy lifestyle. Roy worked as a general contractor and home builder around the Kingfisher area for many years.

He married Lori Ann Sallis on June 6, 2006 in McAlester.

Roy’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, off grid living at his cabin, and watching westerns, especially John Wayne movies. Roy enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Roy was preceded in death by his father: Roy Lee Stevens, Sr. and his mother: Barbara (West) Stevens.

He is survived by his wife:, Lori of the home; daughter: Destiny Gibson and husband, Joseph Alsup of Haywood; son: Joshua McClendon of McAlester; grandchildren: Lilly Anna Gibson, Tristan Alsup, Cheyanna Gibson, Madison Alsup, Roy Lee Alsup, all of Haywood, Elana McClendon, Eli McClendon, both of New Mexico; brother: Mike Stevens; sister: Deborah Lowes; and nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
