TEXAS CITY – Mrs. Katherine Ruth Larsen passed from this life Sunday evening, December 13, 2020, in Texas City.

Born September 9, 1929 in Alta Loma, TX, Mrs. Larsen had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County.

Katherine was a homebody and loved watching TV, but will always be remembered as being a sweet and kind person who never saw the bad in a person, only the good and loved everyone. She was a lifelong member of VFW Post 8248 Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as a past treasurer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Eugene and Pauline Alice (Russo) Kitchell; husbands, Homer Lee Stephens, Paul Louis Larsen; sons, William B. Stephens, Joel P. Stephens; daughter, Carol D. Cooksey; sisters, Beth Faust, Dorothy Mallia; stepbrother, Kurt Taegar; stepsister, Audrey Mae.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Darlene Hughes; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.

The family would like to express special thanks to Bay Area House Calls, nurse Allen Graves, Ron Randall, PA, and Dr. Gary Spangler for the loving care they gave to Katherine. Her final days were richly blessed by the wonderful care you provided.
